Event Series Event Series: Petite Picassos

July 15 @ 10:30 am - 11:15 am | $35

Petite Picassos

Petite Picassos returns to Plaza del Lago this summer as a thoughtfully curated outdoor children’s art series led by professional artist and illustrator Martha Nippert, founder of Marnani Design Studio.

Designed for children ages 3–8, the four-week series invites young artists to explore creativity through hands-on, process-based art experiences in an inspiring outdoor studio on Plaza del Lago’s beautiful Terrace.

Rather than following step-by-step instructions, children are encouraged to experiment with color, texture, and materials while expressing their own creativity in a welcoming, supportive environment. Each workshop is thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and celebrate the creative process through open-ended exploration.

Leading each session is Martha Nippert, a professional artist and illustrator whose work has appeared with renowned brands and publications including Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, Gap Brands, The New Yorker, The New York Times, and Better Homes & Gardens. A former Lead Women’s Designer at Michael Kors, Martha brings more than 15 years of professional artistic experience – and a passion for inspiring the next generation of creators.

As Pablo Picasso famously said,

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”

A Beautifully Curated Summer Morning

Each Petite Picassos workshop transforms Plaza del Lago’s outdoor Terrace into a charming children’s art studio. In partnership with Sally Splash, the creative space is thoughtfully styled to create a colorful, welcoming environment that feels every bit as special as the artwork children create.

Together, Martha’s artistic instruction, Sally Splash’s beautifully curated studio design, and Plaza del Lago’s historic setting create a one-of-a-kind summer experience where creativity, imagination, and community come together.
